Autumn Vaccine Campaign

Autumn Vaccine Campaign

We’re pleased to announce that we will be offering both the covid and flu vaccines to eligible patients again this Autumn. We anticipate that we will be able to start inviting patients to book an appointment in September, with clinics expected to start in October. Please do not call reception to enquire or book an appointment, we will contact you via text message or phone call. As always, we will also call our housebound patients to arrange for us to visit you.

We have been advised that the following cohorts will be eligible:

  • Residents in a care home for older adults
  • All adults aged 65 years and over
  • Persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group
  • Frontline health and social care workers
  • Persons aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression
  • Persons aged 16 to 64 years who are carers and staff working in care homes for older adults.

We will be giving both the flu and covid vaccines together at the same appointment, one in each arm. We do not know which covid vaccine we will be given to use, but we have been reassured that it will be the ‘most up to date’ vaccine.

Please note we are only able to offer covid vaccines to eligible patients aged 18 and over. Eligible children will be contacted with details on how and where to book as soon as we have this information.

We will be offering the flu vaccine to eligible children as usual: all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31/08/2023 and all those in clinical risk groups.

Primary school aged children will also be offered a flu vaccine at school – we are not able to offer vaccines to these children unless they’re also eligible due to being in a clinical risk group.
