IMPORTANT UPDATES

Face-to face GP appointments

You may have seen in the media that GP practices are ‘re-opening’ from Monday 17th. As you will know, we have been open throughout the pandemic and, whilst we’ve had to adapt and make changes to how you access us, the GP team has continued to invite patients for a consultation in person where there is medical need and it is safe to do so. This was in-line with national instruction to keep other patients and practice staff safe.

As Covid-19 infection rates decrease the national guidance is set to be updated, as announced in the news. We are still awaiting the full details of this update and will need a bit of time to plan and put safety measures into place to ensure the continued safety of our patients and our staff. For now, our reception team will continue to offer an initial consultation via remote methods but, as always, if the GP needs to see you in person you will be invited to attend for a face-to-face appointment.

We will keep you updated. Thank you for your support.

Updated 2nd dose schedule

You may have also seen in the media that 2nd doses for people in cohorts 1 – 9 will be brought forward to 8 weeks. Please appreciate that, again, we did not receive any forewarning of this announcement but we will now get to work and put plans in to place in line with the new guidance. If you have a 2nd dose appointment booked, please attend as planned. If we are yet to contact you to book your second dose, the message remains the same please wait to hear from us, we will be in touch. Please do not contact the surgery or the covid vaccine team to enquire about your 2nd dose, your patience is appreciated.

Please note that the 2nd dose schedule for under 50s remains unchanged and we will contact you at around 9 – 10 weeks to book you in for your second dose at 11 weeks.
