Practice Nurse / Nurse Practitioner – Part-time Vacancy

The Boathouse surgery in Pangbourne has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to join our friendly team to provide general nursing care to our patient population. This part-time role is for 20-25hpw across 3 days. The surgery is situated in picturesque surroundings beside the River Thames within this beautiful village.

Main job responsibilities

To provide general nursing care such as cervical screening, immunisations and travel vaccinations along with other routine injections, ECGs, wound care and providing health & lifestyle advice.

To develop, implement and embed health promotion and well-being programmes

To identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long term conditions, preventing adverse effect to patient’s health.

To provide general nursing care such as cervical screening, immunisations and travel vaccinations along with other routine injections, ECGs, wound care and providing health & lifestyle advice.

Chronic disease management – preferably respiratory.

To maintain accurate clinical records and ensure read codes are used effectively

Participate in national and local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.

Support and participate in shared learning within the practice, including the review of significant events.

Ensure clinical knowledge is kept up-to-date and mandatory training requirements are met.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (current UK professional registration)
  • Registered on the cervical sample takers database

Experience

  • Previous experience in primary care – essential
  • Effective record keeping – essential
  • Understanding of Infection Control procedures – essential
  • Experience of QOF – desirable
  • Experience of Emis Web clinical system – desirable
  • Prescribing qualification – desirable
  • Long term condition management – desirable
  • Coil & implant fitting – desirable
